Ana JORHS. doesn’t just play techno, she bends it until it starts to glow. Born and raised in Barcelos, Portugal, she grew up rifling through her father’s vinyl crates, learning early that a kick drum can hit as hard as words. Under the alias Christinne she cut her teeth as a DJ and producer, diving head-first into the raw, hypnotic side of the genre. By her early twenties she was already holding down a residency at the mythical Club118, trading records in the booth with Oscar Mulero, Ben Sims and Sunil Sharpe, playing key rooms like Lux Frágil and Gare Porto, appearing at some of Portugal’s most important festivals, and releasing on heavyweights like PoleGroup and Faut Section.

But sound has never been enough on its own. For Ana, a pulsing 909 is a brushstroke and a filtered chord is a shaft of light; the club is a darkroom where frequencies develop into images. Since 2012 she has given that vision to others too, creating cover art and motion visuals for more than 300 electronic music artists and labels, from PoleGroup and Edit Select to Faut Section and Warp Dissonance.

In 2024 she launched her own imprint, JORHS., and stepped fully into the hybrid identity she’d been chasing for years: music and visual art feeding each other in real time. Today that same language lives on canvas, in original paintings and signed prints born from the music. Her strength isn’t loud; it moves like a perfect bassline, relentless yet elegant, unapologetic yet precise.

What’s next feels wide open and inevitable at the same time: deeper experiments, stranger collaborations, rooms that leave people different than they arrived. If you’ve ever wanted to watch sound become colour and colour become movement, find one of her nights.

Let your body go and your mind’s eye be alert. She will take care of the rest.
